Our mission is to help individuals move beyond treatment
into lives of stability, purpose, and hope through quality housing, strong community, accountability, and faith-based support.
Who We Are
At Jax Recovery Homes, recovery begins with more than a place to live—it begins with a place to belong.
Operated by Shalom House Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our Christian, faith-inspired recovery housing program serves the Jacksonville, Mandarin, and St. Augustine communities. Guided by compassion, dignity, accountability, and hope, we welcome individuals of all backgrounds and beliefs. Religious participation is not required.
Our Florida residences are being prepared to provide clean, comfortable, beautifully furnished recovery housing in safe residential communities.
Our leadership previously operated TROHN-certified men’s and women’s recovery residences in Texas under Katy Recovery Homes. That experience now informs the development and operation of Jax Recovery Homes in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

We envision a community where everyone in recovery has the stable housing, support, and opportunities to rebuild their lives and inspire others.

Former Resident Testimonials
Testimonials below reflect residents’ experiences at our previously operated recovery residences in Texas. That experience informs the development of Jax Recovery Homes in Florida.

"I got off my probation one year early because I have been doing so well here. It is the most peaceful place I have been to." Don W
"I have never experienced such peace in my life until I came to this house. My parents are very grateful also." Charlie A
"I cannot explain it. This place is very special. I had an anxiety attack on the way here but I felt so accepted and cared when I got here. This place saved my life." Bob W
"I cannot believe that I didn't know about this home before and went through hell in another sober living home for many months! I am being treated like an adult and people really care here." Jonathan H
"Older guys in the house help us become real men. I am 23 years old now and my house manager John spent lots of time helping me to study when I took my welding inspector test. I passed it easily because of his help." Josh R
"I could not have scripted my life any better than how it worked out. I initially was on the fence about going to sober living. I have a nice home to return to but I wanted a healthy and new environment to accrue some recovery time after treatment. I am so grateful that I found this home! This place has been an absolute blessing. There is joy, camaraderie, a sense of shared purpose and accountability that I would completely have missed if I had gone home. I will have six months in sobriety as of June 7th and this house has been a huge part of my journey. The house is beautiful, there has been no drama, and the management really seems to be invested in the success of the residents." John V
